Something a Little Different

For Christmas, for the seven girls on my Christmas list, I like to do stocking type gifts - lots of little things together in a box. And because it’s me, I like to try to be crafty with them where I can. Last year I made everyone a pair of earrings and put them in origami boxes. This year, with more planning, I’m making quite a few things - I’m making a knit bunny each, charm bracelets (which I’ll probably put in origami boxes again), if I have time I’d also like to cover some notebooks, either with pretty paper, or preferably felt, and these, candleholders. Last week, we went on a spending spree at hobbycraft. These little candleholders were one of the quickest and easiest crafts on my list!

We bought three glass paint pens - green, red and yellow. The pens are so easy to use! You just shake, press down on the point (which triggers the paint flow), and draw! Really easy and quick to do, but I love the way they’ve turned out! The paint’s also dishwasher safe now they’ve had two days drying time, although I don’t think I want to test that! The holders are the perfect size for tealights, so I’ll get a pack or two of nice coloured and scented ones, and divide them out between the boxes. I’m also pretty pleased with the photos I took in the dark, I think it’s come out well.
